Brooklyn Heights Wainscoting & Paneling

The Challenge

The homeowner wanted new wainscoting that was indistinguishable from the original 1890s millwork in the parlor floor. We had to match profiles that haven't been stock since the early 1900s.

Our Approach

We pulled the existing molding profile using a contour gauge, then had custom knives ground to replicate the exact ogee-and-fillet pattern. Poplar substrate, hand-primed and painted to match.
