About

The Carpenter

Chris Pellegrino, finish carpenter

Craft is in the details that most people never notice — but everyone feels

Chris Pellegrino has been building custom woodwork for New York City's finest homes for over 25 years. He learned the trade from his father, a master carpenter who built cabinets for homes across Long Island, and brought those old-world techniques to Manhattan's most demanding renovations.

His specialty is the kind of finish carpentry that defines a room: the library that looks like it's always been there, the crown molding that follows a century-old ceiling line without a gap, the kitchen cabinets with dovetailed drawers and grain-matched panels that a homeowner will still love in 30 years.

Chris works closely with interior designers, architects, and homeowners who care about craft. He believes the best finish carpentry is invisible — not showy, but quiet evidence that someone cared about every joint, every reveal, every transition.

He lives in Manhattan with his family and works across Manhattan and Brooklyn. When he's not in the shop or on a jobsite, he's probably at a lumberyard selecting boards.

How we work

Precision over speed

We take the time to do it right. Coped joints, scribed panels, hand-selected wood. No shortcuts.

One project at a time

We don't juggle five jobs. Your project gets full attention from start to finish.

Transparent pricing

Fixed prices, detailed scopes, no surprises. Change orders only if you change the scope.

Respect for your home

Drop cloths, dust barriers, clean up every day. We treat your home like it's ours.

We've used Chris on three projects now. He's the rare finish carpenter who understands design intent, not just dimensions. He sees what you're trying to achieve and makes it better.
